Who should not take Detrol LA?

Detrol LA is not for use in adults who have a slow emptying stomach, also known as gastric retention or slow emptying bladder known as urinary retention. Detrol LA is not used to treat overactive bladder in adults who have uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma. Adults should not take Detrol LA if they are allergic to any of its ingredients, including allergy to tolterodine tartrate (active ingredient), sucrose, gelatin, dye, starch, and FD&C Blue #2. Women who are pregnant or plan on becoming pregnant should not take Detrol LA until they have discussed the benefits and risks of Detrol LA with their doctor. Women who are breastfeeding should not take Detrol LA because it’s unclear whether the medication affects the breast milk. Detrol LA should not be used to children’s overactive bladder symptoms because of the risk of serious side effects to their health.
