Does Renagel interact with other medications or foods?

Taking Renagel (sevelamer) with certain medicines may increase your risk for side effects. Ciprofloxacin, mycophenolate mofetil, levothyroxine, and heart or seizure medications are the most common medicines that may affect your risk for side effects. If you are taking another medication along with Renagel, you should take it at least one hour before or at least three hours after you take Renagel. Taking Renagel with food is the most effective way for it to work.
