How does Enablex work?

Darifenacin (Enablex) works by giving the patient better control over bladder muscle contractions. Urinary incontinence and related problems can occur when muscles that control the bladder become too active and contract involuntarily. It relaxes the bladder muscles to prevent urgent, frequent or uncontrolled urination. It can reduce the number bladder contractions and therefore, the number of trips people make to the bathroom and avoid having "accidents." It is in the drug class known as the antimuscarinics.

Darifenacin comes in a special extended-release (long acting) tablet that needs to be taken by mouth once every day with liquid (water, milk, or juice). It does not matter if it is taken with food. Remember to take it at the same time every day. It is very important that you do not split, chew or crush the tablet.
