How does Detrol work?

Detrol works by controlling bladder contractions. The bladder, the organ that collects and holds urine from the kidneys, usually contracts voluntarily (when you want it to contract). Urinary incontinence and related problems can occur when muscles that control the bladder become too active and contract involuntarily. Detrol and similar drugs reduce the number bladder contractions and therefore, the number of trips people make to the bathroom and help them avoid having "accidents."
