What are the treatment options for genetic disorders?

Because genetic disorders cause so many different types of conditions, such as cancer, sickle cell disease, and diabetes, treatment varies widely and targets each specific condition. Dietary restrictions have proved useful in treating some genetic disorders. Enzyme replacement therapy is now available to treat some genetic conditions.  An experimental technique called gene therapy is a broader treatment that changes gene function. It uses genes to prevent and treat various disorders and diseases.
