Does generalized anxiety disorder affect children differently than adults?

Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) affects children in the same manner as it affects adults. Children with generalized anxiety disorder also worry excessively about almost everything. GAD negatively affects their relationships with friends and may also lead to drug and alcohol use. Stomachaches and other physical ailments may arise due to generalized anxiety disorder. Medication and therapy are also used to treat children with GAD.
