What are the treatment options for esophageal atresia?

A baby with esophageal atresia must have surgery as soon as possible in order for the baby to feed properly. The surgery will connect the esophagus to the stomach. If necessary, the surgery will also disconnect the esophagus from the trachea, preventing damage to the lungs.
