Does gallbladder cancer affect men and women differently?

Gallbladder cancer is more common in women than in men, although the gender ratio is more pronounced in certain populations. The ratio between females and males in South America and northern India, for instance, is between 5:1 and 6:1. This is in contrast to the male female ratio of between 1:1 and 1.4:1 found in Korea, China, and Japan.
