What is olsalazine?

Olsalazine is sold under the brand name Dipentum. Olsalazine is prescribed to treat adults who have had ulcerative colitis. Used primarily to keep attacks of ulcerative colitis from coming back when the condition is in remission, olsalazine is most often used by people who are unable to tolerate the drug sulfasalazine. Olsalazine comes in a capsule form and falls into the drug class of salicylates. It helps to control inflammation in the intestines.
