What are the side effects of Asacol HD?

Serious side effects of Asacol HD include stomach pain, cramping, fever, headache, and diarrhea. Gastrointestinal symptoms are the most commonly occurring side effects. Less serious effects include nausea, flu-like symptoms, constipation, headache, dizziness, fatigue, and rash. In some cases, Asacol HD can worsen ulcerative colitis instead of improving it. Asacol HD poses risks to the kidneys. Some musculoskeletal problems, such as gout, have also been reported.
