Are there any risks in taking ipratropium bromide?

People who are allergic to any of the ingredients in ipratropium are at risk of a severe reaction. If ipratropium gets in the eyes, there is a risk of eye injury that may affect vision. Some of the potential side effects associated with this medication can be severe, including chest pain, rapid heartbeat, breathlessness, low blood pressure and fainting. There is a risk that ipratropium nasal spray can cause a variety of nasal problems, including nasal ulcers and tumors. There is also a risk that ipratropium will negatively interact with another medications.
