How soon after taking Cogentin will my symptoms improve?

Your doctor may start you out on a small dose of Cogentin (benztropine), then instruct you to gradually increase your dose. Don't be surprised if you don't notice any change in your symptoms right away, as it may take at least several days for the medicine to start working. People with Parkinson's disease typically remain on Cogentin for an extended period. If your doctor prescribes Cogentin to relieve tremors caused by other medications you take, you may only take the drug for a short time.
