Do I need to take pancreatic enzymes with all my food?

You need to take pancreatic enzymes with almost all foods that contain protein and carbohydrates. You do not need enzymes when you eat or drink the following:

  • fruit and fruit juice
  • tea or coffee
  • soft drinks
  • popsicles or flavored ice
  • chewing gum or bubble gum
  • infant oral rehydration fluids such as Pedialyte

Talk to your doctor about foods and drinks you consume.
