How should I take sulfasalazine?

Sulfasalazine is available as a tablet taken at regular, consistent intervals of less than eight hours every day. It is also available as a delayed-release tablet that is usually taken twice a day. Your doctor will advise you on the correct dosage. Follow your doctor's instructions as well as any instructions on the prescription bottle.

To avoid an upset stomach, take sulfasalazine with a glass of water and usually after meals or with food.
