Are there any risks in taking Prevacid?

There are risks involved with taking Prezista, including illness, side effects, and interactions with other medications or supplements. The combination of Prezista and ritonavir has in some cases resulted in drug-induced hepatitis. High blood sugar can occur, which can cause side effects in anyone but can be particularly concerning for those with diabetes. The drug can also have negative interactions with a number of medications and herbal supplements, most particularly St. John's wort. An increase in upper body fat and/or decrease in lower body fat may also occur.

Once you start taking Prezista, you should not stop. Stopping Prezista, even for a short time between prescriptions, can allow the virus to fight and become resistant to Prezista, making it more difficult to treat in the long run.
