Are there any risks in taking Prevacid SoluTab?

If you have liver or kidney disease, there is the risk that Prevacid SoluTab (lansoprazole) will be less effective. You may not be able to take Prevacid SoluTab if you have phenylketonuria (PKU), a genetic disorder. Also, taking sucralfate makes it harder for your body to absorb Prevacid SoluTab. To prevent this, take sucralfate 30 minutes after taking Prevacid SoluTab. Prevacid SoluTab belongs to the drug class known as proton pump inhibitors. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a warning that use of this class of drug may increase the risk for hip, wrist, and spine fractures.
