What are vaginal anti-fungal suppositories?

Vaginal anti-fungal suppositories are used to treat vaginal fungal infections, such as yeast infections. You will be directed to put the suppository in your vagina using an applicator. You also may be given a cream to put on the outside of your vagina to reduce itching. An example of an over-the-counter vaginal anti-fungal suppository is Monistat 7. There are some generic equivalents for this medication, as well as prescription versions.
