How many joints make up the elbow?

The elbow actually consists of three joints: the humeroulnar, humeroradial, and proximal radioulnar joints. The combination of these joints allows for elbow extension/flexion and forearm pronation/supination. The elbow normally has approximately 145 degrees of flexion and 90 degrees of both supination and pronation. When the elbow is completely extended, there is normally no angle in the elbow joint.
