What's a good drill to improve quickness off the ball while pass rushing?

To explode off the ball on defense requires the right stance and fast reaction skills. For your stance, you need to focus on using both legs to initiate your start, not just the front leg.  Make sure you are putting solid pressure into the ground with the rear leg.  Sometimes, bringing your rear leg up a little closer to your front leg will allow you to push into the ground more evenly with both legs.  Just keep a lot of weight on your front hand and keep your butt higher than your shoulders. To improve your reactions, you should use a few different prompts to increase reaction times when jumping out of your stance.  You can respond to sound, react to movement, and even fire out upon being touched by a teammate or coach.  This subtle touch can be really effective in harnessing a defender's intuition to feel the opponent's intentions while playing.  Use all three prompts to improve your reactive skills and do it all from a balanced stance.
