How should I store sea vegetables?

Michael T. Murray, ND
Naturopathic Medicine

The freshest sea vegetables are sold in airtight packaging and do not have moisture-exposed plants. As they are sold in a number of forms (sheets, flakes, and powders), you can choose the form that will work for your recipes for a particular meal. A tightly closed container can keep them fresh for several months. Dried sea vegetables do not require refrigeration or freezing and, once cooked, have a refrigerated life of three to four days.
