How should lettuce be stored?

Use a salad spinner to dry the leaves and prepare them for use in salads and for storage. Lettuce should be washed and dried before storing in the refrigerator to remove excess moisture. Crisphead and romaine lettuce will keep for five to seven days, butterhead and loose-leaf lettuce for two to three days.
