What are the side effects of Avelox?

Avelox can cause a variety of side effects. If you have trouble breathing; swelling in the face, lips, tongue or neck; or hives, you may be allergic to the medication and should get immediate medical assistance. Call your doctor if you experience other serious side effects, including:
•    pounding or fast heartbeat;
•    fever, headache, and sore throat with a skin rash;
•    any skin rash, even if it is mild;
•    pain, tingling, or numbness in any part of the body;
•    yellow or pale skin with weakness, fever, and dark urine;
•    little or no urination;
•    seizures;
•    bloody or watery diarrhea;
•    depression, abnormal behavior or thoughts, confusion or hallucinations;
•    sudden swelling or pain in the joints, especially the ankle or arm.
Some less serious side effects may include:
•    diarrhea
•    dry mouth
•    mild itching;
•    nausea and vomiting;
•    drowsiness;
•    blurry vision;
•    nervous or agitated feelings;
•    insomnia or nightmares.
