Common side effects of Quixin include: headaches; itchy or dry eyes; sore throat; and mild pain, discomfort or burning in the eyes.

Serious side effects include: crusting or draining of the eye; severe irritation; sensation of a foreign object in the eye; redness or swelling of the eye; vision problems; sensitivity to light; and fever, sore throat, chills or other symptoms of a new infection. Call your doctor without delay if you experience any of these symptoms.

Quixin also can cause an allergic reaction in some people. Call 911 for emergency medical help if you experience the following: rash, hives, itching, swelling, wheezing or difficulty breathing or swallowing.
