What side effects of Factive should I report to my doctor?

Factive may cause tendonitis, which is inflammation or irritation of the fiber-like tissue that connects bones to muscles. Tell your doctor if you develop sore or tender joints. In rare cases Factive may also cause serious side effects. Tell your doctor about any of the following:

• severe diarrhea with or without fever and stomach cramps (which can occur up to two months or more after you stop treatment)

• skin problems such as a rash, itching, or hives

• difficulty breathing or swallowing

• swollen face, tongue, or lips

• hoarseness or a tight feeling in your throat

• fainting

• yellowed skin or eyes

• lightheadedness or dizziness

• seizures

• hallucinations (seeing things that aren't really there)

• emotional changes such as depression, anxiety, or paranoia (abnormal mistrust of others and fear that others want to harm you)

• suicidal thoughts

• restlessness

• confusion

• insomnia or nightmares

• uncontrollable shaking

• pain, burning, tingling, numbness, and/or weakness anywhere in your body
