How does Levaquin treat anthrax?

Levaquin is used to help prevent the progression of a serious infection caused by Bacillus anthracis. The antibiotic works to destroy any harmful bacteria that a person may have been exposed to and prevent growth. To treat anthrax inhalation, adults and children are recommended to take 500 mg once a day for 60 days to clear the infection or prevent one from developing.
