Does Factive interact with other medications?

There are several medications that should not be taken at the same time as Factive (gemifloxacin), because they may reduce its effectiveness. These include: antacids that contain aluminum or magnesium; sucralfate for ulcers; didanosine; and any vitamin or mineral pills that contain zinc or iron. If you are using any of these, take them at least three hours before or at least two hours after you have taken Factive. There are many other medications that may interact with Factive. Tell your doctor about all medications that you may be using, including other antibiotics, medicines to treat vomiting and nausea, medicines for any psychiatric disorders, antidepressants, blood thinners, probenecid, diuretics, anti-malaria medicines, narcotics, medicines for migraine headaches, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or oral steroids.
