How do medications treat flat feet?

Much of the pain and swelling that may be caused by flat feet can be treated with medications. Your doctor may recommend that you ease any pain or inflammation by taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as ibuprofen. No medications are necessary if your flat feet aren't causing you any pain.
