The following are the first aid treatment guidelines for chest pain:

  • Help victim find a comfortable position.
  • Monitor the responsiveness and breathing.
  • Get medical attention.
  • Do not wait for pain to go away if victim's condition is worsening.
  • Do not use age or personality to dismiss possible serious causes for the pain.
  • Do not give victim anything to drink or eat.
  • Do not give victim another person's medication unless told to do so by medical personnel.
  • Do not leave the victim alone.
