Are there different types of fallopian tube cancer?

There are a few different types of fallopian tube cancer. These are defined by the histology, or the type of cells, that cause the cancer. Over 95 percent of fallopian tube cancers are caused by cancerous growth of the cells lining of the fallopian tubes. These are called papillary serious adenocarcinomas. Leiomyosarcomas, which come from smooth muscle cells, and transitional cell carcinomas are two other types.
