What could blood in the colored part of the eye indicate?

This is called a hyphema. A direct blow to the eye is generally the cause. The blood may settle to the bottom of that part of the eye. That part of the eye may also become filled with blood. Vision may be limited or completely blocked. This is a very serious condition. An immediate referral to a doctor is recommended because if this is not managed properly it can lead to vision damage that cannot be corrected.
