Infections, eye injuries, autoimmune or inflammatory disorders, and cancer make people more susceptible to uveitis. About 40 percent of people suffering from uveitis are also affected by another disease. Very often, the specific cause of uveitis cannot be determined; in this case, it is known as idiopathic uveitis.
