The easiest treatment option for astigmatism is corrective glasses. Contact lenses treat astigmatism by acting as a corrective refractive surface. Contact lenses are the preferred treatment option for those leading more active lifestyles, but they are not always an option for people with other eye disorders. Alternatively, some people with astigmatism opt for surgery that will permanently adjust the problematic cornea shape.
