Does astigmatism affect children differently than adults?

Children and adults are both affected by astigmatism. There is no age-dependent difference in severity or onset of astigmatism. Astigmatism can be treated regardless of age and can be detected through eye exams. Especially with children, eye exams can detect astigmatism before vision is affected.
