What happens after a child is treated for retinoblastoma?

Even after a child has been treated for retinoblastoma, they are still at risk of recurrence, or the development of another cancer. Doctors will continue to conduct tests after the tumor has disappeared. Biannual or annual exams will be conducted under general anesthesia to search for tumors in the eye and elsewhere. Vision tests should also be routine.
