Who should not take estropipate?

Women who are allergic to any of the ingredients in estropipate should not take it. Additionally, women with bleeding or blood-clotting disorders, the blood disease porphyria, vein inflammation, circulation problems or liver disease should not take this medication. Estropipate should not be taken by women with a history of stroke or heart attack. Pregnant women, those who plan to become pregnant, have just given birth or are breastfeeding, should not take an estrogen medication, as it may cause harm to the fetus or a nursing baby. Women with breast, uterine or other hormone-dependent or estrogen-dependent cancers should not take estropipate. There are no approved uses for estropipate in men.
