Who should not take Estrace?

Do not take Estrace if you are pregnant, or if you have:
  • allergic reactions to certain medicines
  • cancers of the breast or uterus
  • any cancer that would be stimulated by hormones
  • history of blood clots
  • liver disease
  • recent heart attack or stroke
  • unusual vaginal bleeding
If the following apply, your doctor may need to conduct tests or change your Estrace dose:
  • asthma
  • endometriosis
  • gallbladder disease
  • heart disease
  • hysterectomy
  • kidney disease
  • family history of blood clots
  • low calcium levels in your blood
  • lupus
  • migraines
  • previous jaundice caused by pregnancy or hormone treatments
  • porphyria
  • seizure disorder
  • underactive thyroid
