What is Estraderm?

Estraderm, or estradiol, is a prescription patch applied to your skin two times a week. It treats menopause symptoms, prevents osteoporosis in postmenopausal women or provides estrogen if the ovaries do not produce enough. It is an estrogen hormone treatment. Using a patch rather than an oral tablet, the estradiol can enter your bloodstream and your body without being transformed by your liver.
