Unusual vaginal bleeding, lumps in the breast or nipple discharge are serious side effects that should be reported. If your urine seems dark, your stools seem light or your skin or eyes seem yellow, it might be related to estradiol gel.
Tell your doctor if you feel pain, swelling or soreness in your stomach or swelling or soreness in your calf. Mood changes might take a turn for the worse and lead to depression. Memory loss, confusion, difficulty speaking or comprehending, strange behavior or thoughts, problems walking, numbness and lack of coordination or strength could all be stemming from use of estradiol gel and should be brought to your doctor's attention.
Also, tell your doctor about any abnormal vaginal bleeding, migraines, coughs that produce blood, fainting, swelling in your extremities, vaginal odor or discharge, vomiting, shortness of breath or blurred vision that you experience.
Less serious side effects of estradiol gel include:
- acne
- altered skin color
- ankle or feet swelling
- breast swelling
- bloating
- increased or decreased interest in sex
- trouble having an orgasm
- feeling tired
- headache
- dizziness
- losing some hair
- vaginal irritation
Seek immediate care if you have an allergic reaction to the drug marked by facial swelling, difficulty breathing, hives and an itchy rash.
