Is estropipate safe for pregnant or breast-feeding women?

Estropipate is not safe for pregnant women because it may cause fetal harm. There is no known indication for the use of estropipate during pregnancy. Effective nonhormonal birth control should be used while a woman of reproductive ability uses this drug. Estropipate can interfere with breast milk production. Either estropipate or breastfeeding should be discontinued.
