Does estropipate interact with other medications or food?

The following medicines may interact with estropipate by increasing the risk of side effects or by decreasing the effectiveness of estradiol: blood thinners like warfarin; corticosteroids, such as prednisolone; barbiturates like phenobarbital; hydantoins like phenytoin; rifampin; St. John's Wort; cimetidine; carbamazepine; antibiotics like erythromycin and clarithromycin; ketoconazole or itraconazole. Grapefruit juice can decrease estrogen breakdown in the body.
