How do I use estrogen?

There are many different types of medications that contain estrogen, including tablets, transdermal systems ("skin patches"), gels and others. It's important to follow all of your doctor's orders and label instructions to get the most benefit from these products. It's also very important that you frequently reevaluate whether you still need to use a medication containing estrogen. See your doctor at least twice a year to discuss whether the benefits you're getting from estrogen still outweigh their potential for causing side effects.
