Is there a cure for essential tremors?

There is no cure for the underlying problem in essential tremor but many find long term relief with regular use of medications such as beta blockers (e.g. propanolol). In the most severe cases where an individual did not respond to a number of medications, a brain surgery with implantation of a deep brain stimulator may be tried, often with excellent results.

There is no cure for essential tremors, but you can manage the frequency and severity of your tremor. Your doctor may prescribe medication or recommend a surgical procedure called deep brain stimulation. You may work with physical or occupational therapists that can teach you how to make lifestyle changes to minimize your tremor. You can also try alternative therapies like meditation or biofeedback.
