How do medications treat an essential tremor?

Medications are not usually prescribed for mild ET because they do little to slow its progress. If your ET is more serious, your doctor may prescribe medications like beta-blockers, Botox, tranquilizers, or anti-seizure drugs. These substances treat ET by reducing the severity of tremors and helping you manage anxiety and stress. Medication cannot make your tremors go away, but they can help improve your daily life.
