Why is regular exercise important to treat erectile dysfunction?

Exercise, even moderate exercise like a brisk walk, stimulates your body to produce nitric oxide. This is a vital (though short-lived) chemical that keeps your arteries open, including the ones that allow blood to flow into your penis when you get sexually aroused. Nitric oxide dissipates right after you make it, so you need to continue to make more. Exercise improves your ability to do just that.

But it’s only one way that exercise is the cornerstone of your ED reversal program. Regular exercise strengthens your heart and improves your cardiovascular system, and it’s key to getting and maintaining erections. Exercise also lifts your spirits, and that’s always a good thing, especially when you are “in the mood.”

You may also want to try a particular kind of exercise called Kegel exercises. These exercises help improve the tone and control of the muscles that control peeing. Doing Kegel exercises regularly can also help treat ED.
