Some researchers believe that regular exercise can help to prevent endometriosis. The theory is that regular exercise and lower body fat cause lower amounts of estrogen in the blood, which may reduce the chance of getting endometriosis. Regular exercise entails more than 4 hours a week of moderate exercise. Even if it is not effective in reducing the chance of getting the condition, regular exercise has been shown to help prevent or ease the symptoms of endometriosis.
Exercise can theoretically decrease your risk of inflammatory disorders, including endometriosis. However, limited studies have been done on the topic, and no evidence has yet been found that endometriosis can be prevented or treated by exercise.
