How do medications treat stage 3 uterine cancer?

Medication is usually used in conjunction with a hysterectomy to treat stage 3 uterine cancer. After surgery, you will go through either chemotherapy or radiation treatment to prevent the cancer's return. Radiation is the use of x-rays to treat cancer. These x-rays can be administered either inside or outside of the body. Chemotherapy is the use of medication to kill cancer. This medication can be taken either by mouth or injected.
