What is a pediatric endocrinologist?

Pediatric endocrinologists are doctors who are specially trained to diagnose and treat hormone and gland-related problems in children and teens. These conditions include diabetes, problems with growth and sexual development (puberty), obesity, and problems with the thyroid, adrenal or pituitary glands. Training for pediatric endocrinologists includes a general pediatrics residency and a fellowship in pediatric endocrinology.
