Should I talk to my doctor about my nontoxic goiter symptoms?

While a goiter sometimes will not cause you any problems, you should tell your doctor about any symptoms. Sometimes a goiter can be a sign of a more serious thyroid condition, or a nontoxic goiter can become toxic and start producing excess thyroid hormones. Once your doctor examines your goiter and level of thyroid function, he or she can recommend whether of not you need treatment.
