Multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 (MEN1) can be treated different ways. Medicines are one type of treatment. Medicines can be taken orally as pills or a liquid, or they can be injected. Whatever the form, the medicines work to stop the tumors from releasing too many hormones. Sometimes, the medicine isn't strong enough and an operation is needed. Even though the operation removes the tumor or the gland causing the problem, people may still need to take medicine afterwards.
