Multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 (MEN2) is treated with an operation to remove the tumor. Removing the tumor stops the problems caused by the tumor. Sometimes a doctor will remove a gland before it causes any problems. Most kids with MEN2 have an operation to remove their thyroid gland when they're young before it can cause problems.
